I thought this was a great story and I highly recommend it. There is a really interesting story line that sucks you right in. The author did a great job developing the characters and you feel like you get to know everyone while you are rooting for them all to overcome the obstacles that they face in order to survive. This was a well written book that doesn’t follow a standard plot line. There are plenty of shocks and surprises along the way. I really liked both of the two main characters who were good people without being perfect.

Ever wonder what will happen if the world finally does go crazy? K’Anne does a good job giving us an idea! Jodi and Krista just wanted a place to go for peace and quiet. They always hoped that’s what their cabin in the woods would be, a refuge to decompress from the rat race. Little did they know that one day the cabin would become their castle!
I really liked this story and the thought K’Anne put into it! If you want to read a book that you won’t want to put down, start reading Survivors now! It’s well written and well edited! A really good read!

Doctored, the book on tape

Doctored

Well, we’ve started the process over at Shadoe Publishing of getting my best-selling book Doctored out as a book on tape.  Do they even put them on tape anymore?  I guess we could just say a book on Audible because that’s where it’s all at.  I’m really pleased with the audition I got for it and I’ve put this ‘teaser’ up on my website for Doctored.

This is the first of I hope many, we will see what or who comes in to audition for other books I am planning on releasing this way.

The first time I heard a book on tape, I believe was the Harry Potter books.  My sons and I would listen to them as we commuted between our two homes in California (four hours, one way) and many times we would stop in Morro Bay, sit by the rock, and listen to them for an extra hour or so.  Jim Dahl, the recording artist/actor did a brilliant job and his voices, were great.  We all really enjoyed the experience.  The rule was, you had to have read the book first1200px-Harry_Potter_wordmark.svg, or we couldn’t listen to the tapes, and later the discs.  It made for some frantic reading, but it also gave both my boys an appreciation for the books.  My mother, the first time she heard the story read to her this way was charmed by it, and admitted how much she enjoyed the experience.

Capture

My second most memorable time that I listened to an audio recording of a book was The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith, and I only listened to that because the movie Carol was coming out and it was a book about a woman/woman relationship.  Come on, Cate Blanchett?  Who wouldn’t want to watch her?

I hope you will watch this space (my blog), sign up for it and, if you haven’t read the book already, at least go to my website to listen to the clip…maybe even by the Audible recording when it comes out.audible-logo

Small Town Angel, 2nd edition

Front Cover

Small towns are notorious for secrets … but what if you bring your secrets with you?

Amy Adams arrives in Northpoint, Wisconsin on a Greyhound bus.  Small towns are well known for not taking to strangers, but THIS stranger decides to stay.

Amy has a look around and to her, it ‘feels’ like home. She rents a cabin in the woods outside of town and proceeds to look for a place to open a store.  Renting to own from one of the locals, she soon finds herself making friends and making waves.  She won’t discuss where she is from and has nothing to say about her past.

People are extremely curious. This Southern Belle has them talking.

Abby Shipman, the Chief of Police in this neck of the woods, is intrigued by the decidedly mysterious and straight redheaded whirlwind that has blown into town. It’s strange that she won’t talk about her past, and she is certainly uncomfortable around Abby … or is it cops in general?

Amy is a mysterious, but friendly stranger to the folks in tiny Northpoint, Wisconsin when she arrives on a Greyhound bus! She reveals nothing about her previous life when asked!
Abby is the single small town sheriff of Northpoint & she is drawn to Amy, who buys her rundown grandparents store!
This is a sweet little small town romance with the mystery of Amy’s previous life looming over it, threatening their love, that is just beginning to surface!! I have it 5 stars!

This was different kind of story. I did like the storyline of both characters. I kept wondering what was up with Amy. This definitely a book I would recommend.
Adorable read 😊

I just finished this story.Very entertaining.
If this place really exists,I want to go there.
Never heard of the “Thumb ” area of Wisconsin on the Eastern coast but I would like to go there after reading this book.
It was fun getting to know Amy and Abby,Toby and Tabby and oh yeah the kids .Hated to see it end.

K’Anne was absolute perfection with the use of Southern language and innuendo. The attitude of a small backwoods town could not have been more accurate

Really enjoyed this. You literally sit through halfway to three quarters of it going what on earth is in her past… I really liked Amy/Angel’s character. Well written. But it’s K’Anne so you know it’s going to be good 🙂

Another superior book by K’Anne Meinel. From the first page to the last you are keep guessing as to what is going to happen between our two main characters Amy and Abby. You understand the confusion in Amy’s mind regarding relationships and as you continue to read the story mush of her past life is revealed and her reason for running is so apparent. At the end you are exhausted but ecstatically happy with the ending.

This book is one of Miss Meinel’s best in a long line of great reads. Small Town Angel is a story that is so believable that you actually picture yourself as part of the story. once you start this book you will not want to put it down to do the dishes, laundry, put the kids to bed or go to bed yourself. From cover to cover this is full of excitement, love and suspense. Thanks K’Anne for another of your great imaginative stories.

This is a well-paced story with lovely characters. I found myself rooting for the two protagonists to get together – the writing hinting that they found each other attractive was tender and believable. You get the sense that there are secrets to be revealed, and when these gradually come out they are worth the wait, and then further twists at the end had me gripped til the last page!

I really enjoyed this book, it kept me engaged from beginning to end. I recommend this book. It almost made me want to move to Wisconsin… almost …

the story was amazing and fun to read. I loved the fact that she overcame so many obstacles to be herself. as an avid reader I like stories that are believable. this one is. The story line is easy to follow and the story is a book you read in one sitting.
I’d recommend this to a friend.

Malice Masterpieces 3, 2nd edition

Malice Masterpieces 3 Books Eleven through Fifteen

I am pleased to announce that the newly edited (and sometimes updated) Malice Masterpieces 3 is done!  This includes books eleven through fifteen.  Each of those novellas are also updated and I’ve even released paperbacks for those who collect them.  Personally, I love the smell of a paperback over an e-book, but hey, that’s just me!

Click on the picture to be taken to my website so you can order your own e-book, in the various formats, or a paperback.  I can even sign the paperback and send it out to you!  There are actually two sizes of paperbacks available for your reading pleasure, both 6×9 which is a standard paperback and then the pocket paperback which is 4.25×7.  Why two sized paperbacks?  A 6×9″ paperback is the standard, but remember those ones at the checkout that fit comfortably in your pocket?  Those were sized 4.25×7″ and that’s why I made two sizes.  They are priced the same, and have the same content.

I’m also thrilled to announce that these are the LAST of the Malice books that needed to be re-released as all of them have now been edited.

Yes, I AM working on Malice #23 and here is a sneak peak at the cover:
