I’d like to introduce to you my fellow Shadoe Publishing author Kaden Shay

Kaden Shay is a 30-something crazy-cat-lady in-the-making who currently resides in Arizona with her partner and miniature zoo, which does currently include 4 cats.  When she isn’t writing or playing mom to several fur-kids she’s singing, playing guitar, or playing online video games.

Kaden grew up in a very musical household and was singing with her family early on in life.  Having an English teacher for a dad gave her a love of the written word and encouraged her to begin her own path toward writing.  She spent middle school and early high school penning poems, songs, and short stories before beginning her first book at age 16 (a project she still hasn’t completed)!

Her furry family, currently consisting of two dogs, four cats, and several rodents, is always available to help her procrastinate in finishing projects.  Helping that along are her favorite activities like online RPGs and karaoke.

Her Calling Cover

In a world on the verge of being told that everything they once thought was merely myth is real, can one teenage girl cope with life changes she never saw coming?

Seventeen year old Kyndle Callahan began her year as a typical high school senior. Well, as typical as a girl can be while living life as a werewolf.  She wasn’t bitten or scratched as most people believe all werewolves are made, no, she was born into the pack that’s always been her extended family. She’s never seen the people she grew up with as the monsters of myth and legend but everything in her life is thrown into a tailspin when her father springs some shocking news on her. Suddenly, reality as a werewolf is much scarier than the stories humans tell. Stunned by the prospect of spending her life bonded to someone she can’t even stand sharing the same space with and devastated at the thought of losing the only love she’s ever known, can Kyndle settle into who and what she is in time to set things right? Can the girl that grew up knowing only pack law stand up, embrace her true calling, and become the woman she was meant to be despite going against everything her family believes?

With the help of her best friend Abbey, Kyndle must navigate a confusing world of wolf culture, teenage drama, and coming out in a group that believes her lifestyle is unnatural.  Follow her journey through pain, heartache, several states, and the fight to be with the girl she loves and take her place in the world.

Sapphic Cowgirl Pocket Paperback & 2nd edition e-book

I’ve always wanted my books to be available to a wide variety of people.  Lesbian fiction, especially about cowgirls isn’t readily available and while I too am a horse-lover, I can’t seem to find ‘enough’ of the combination to feed my reading soul!  I released Sapphic Cowgirl back in 2012 as an e-book.  It’s not too long, a novella, but this is the first time it is also available in a pocket paperback!  The book has been updated, a few things added, tweaked, and for those fortunate enough to obtain the paperback, there is something extra special that I put in ‘all’ my paperbacks…go take a look at this ‘special’ pocket paperback from my publishing company Shadoe Publishing, it even has a new cover!

WHEN BAD REVIEWS HURT GOOD AUTHORS and what can be done to change that

M A G P I E à la modus operandi

Little Girl and Crying Heart
Imagine you are Meryl Streep sitting in the audience, nominated for a Best Actress Oscar at the Academy Awards and Golden Globes and Mia Farrow’s name is called instead of yours.

It doesn’t matter that a vast majority of the general public and international acting community think — make that know — Meryl Streep is the finest actress to grace a screen since the talkies. And, it doesn’t matter that her performance far outshines that of any other actress on the planet.

She must sit and smile and be grateful just to know that she’s the superior actress, even when saddled with being lesser so, by those who are not as talented, or as accomplished as she.

(And by ‘she’ I mean those of ‘you’ still up there in my opening line, imagining yourself as Meryl Streep.)

The point is, being the best at what you do is never enough…
