A few years ago when I was looking for someone to narrate not only my books, but my authors over at Shadoe Publishing, I came across new narrators who were looking for their first jobs. If their cadence was what I felt was right for the book, their voice sounded good, and they were professional, I was all for signing them on.
Yesterday I received a thank you, out of the blue, and I have to say, it gave me a smile.
I wished her well and welcomed her back anytime she wanted to audition for another one of our books.

Last week I ran a promo with all of my books that are available in audio. It was especially important to those who may have never listened to audiobooks before. I would receive a referral credit and they would receive free books and if they don’t like audio, they can cancel their subscription.
One of the things I ran into was that somebody wanted their book in Australia. I was under the impression that if you’re in Australia or certain parts of Europe you could order it through the British site. Unbeknownst to me they had added links for Australia and Canada. Yay.
This meant updating my website.
Now I’m rather obsessive about keeping my website updated, current, and have all the links. I have over 99 audiobooks available so this was an additional 198 links, right? Nope there was even more because I found errors, fix things, and had to update certain pages as well as create a couple. Not only that, but I was behind on my WordPress blog and had to get a couple of those out as well. Also, to add work to my overburdened psyche I have links to the audiobooks in two spots on my website. So over 400 links had to be added.
No problem, I love doing things like that and rise to the challenge. I figured it would take a day. Well, I’m not as young as I used to be, my brain doesn’t work as well as it used to since covid, and oh look, squirrel. It has literally taken me a week to update the website with all the links, all the little fix-its and other errors that I have discovered, fixed, and tweaked.
I’m proud to see that my website is probably one of the cleanest and most current with all its links pictures and buttons. With over 100 books in English an equal number in Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages including Italian, German, etc, that’s been a helluva lot of work. I hope you appreciate it.
