Recently I released some information that THE SEATTLE LESBIAN saw fit to share, nationwide. Please take a moment to go to her article and share it! I really enjoy what she has put together for me. Enjoy!
I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Karen E. Baker earlier this year. I have since found out from that first introduction that she actually READ my books to become familiar with me (and she liked what she read!) before approaching me to publish her book DAKOTA at Shadoe Publishing. Such an important book. As someone who has experienced depression and PTSD I felt the NEED to get this book out to the public and with that gut instinct I offered her a contract. I am so glad I did because the resounding success of this incredible novel, it’s fantastic cover (by none other than her own graphic artist of a wife!) have shown that others too need to hear this story. So if you haven’t read DAKOTA yet, don’t wait. It’s a great read! I am honored to consider Karen a friend now, thrilled that she trusted me with her debut novel, and want you to check it out! We should ALL look forward to more from Karen E. Baker in the coming years!
When U.S. Marine Dakota McKnight returned home from her third tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom, she carried more baggage than the gear and dress blues she had deployed with. A vicious rocket-propelled grenade attack on her base left her best friend dead and Dakota physically and emotionally wounded. The marine who once carried herself with purpose and confidence, has returned broken and haunted by the horrors of war. When she returns to the civilian world, life is not easy, but with the help of her therapist, Janie, she is barely managing to hold her life together…then she meets Beth.
Beth Kendrick is an American history college professor. She is as straight-laced as they come, until Dakota enters her life, that is. Will her children understand what she is going through? Will she take a chance on the broken marine or decide to wait for the perfect someone to come along?
Time is on your side, they say, unless there is a dark, sinister evil at work. Is their love strong enough to hold these two people together? Will the love of a good woman help Dakota find the path to recovery? Or is she doomed to a life of inner turmoil and destruction that knows no end?

I’d like to introduce my fellow author over at Shadoe Publishing, Prudence MacLeod
Prudence MacLeod is a spiritual seeker, dog trainer, Reiki Master, interior designer, and personal trainer who has turned her hand to writing. She is an avid chess player and has recently become addicted to World of Warcraft.
In her own words, “I have roamed far and wide for over sixty years in this realm, and I have seen much; some I wish I had not, and a great deal that I would love to see again. Some days I feel like Bilbo Baggins, for I have been there and come back again. No, I haven’t written a book about my wanderings, but much that I have experienced, observed, learned, surmised, or imagined, is woven into the tales I have written. I do hope you enjoy them.”
Check her out at Shadoe Publishing!
