Definition of Social Media

From Wikipedia: Social media employ web- and mobile-based technologies to support interactive dialogue and “introduce substantial and pervasive changes to communication between organizations, communities, and individuals.” Social media are social software which mediate human communication. When the technologies are in place, social media is ubiquitously accessible, and enabled by scalable[clarification needed] communication techniques. In the year 2012, social media became one of the most powerful sources for news updates through platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

Recently I was admonished that I post too much on platforms such as Facebook and then I combine that with this my blog, Twitter, my website, etc   I don’t think you CAN post TOO much really if it’s about something you are passionate about.  Your ‘followers’ can choose to read it or not.  Many times people choose to ignore what is posted and just superficially acknowledge that it is there.  So, do I post too much?  No.  When I have something to post, do I plaster it EVERYWHERE? Yes!  So if you choose to read it or not, I can’t make you.  I hope you do.

My girlfriend sent me this: Life is a courageous journey or nothing at all. We cannot become who we want to be by continuing to do exactly what we’ve been doing. If you are passionate about something, pursue it, no matter what anyone else thinks. That’s how dreams are achieved. Be deaf when people tell you that you can’t fulfill your dreams. The only place where your goals and dreams are impossible is inside your head. Once you’ve dreamed of it, you’re halfway there. So go ahead and follow through. Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words. Follow your heart regardless of what others tell you to do. At the end of the day it’s you who has to live with your decisions, not them.

Hope I lift up your day and let the doubters or negative nay sayers by the wayside!  Enjoy!  READ!
